Papa's Burgeria Guide: Grill Timing, Stacking and What to Buy First
Published · 3 min read
Papa's Burgeria looks like a simple click-and-drag game until the fourth customer walks in and the grill is already full. The game is really about juggling three stations at once. Here is how each one works and how to keep them all moving.
The loop
A day starts at the Order Station. Customers walk in, you click the one at the counter, and they read out their order: how many patties, how done, and which toppings in which order. That becomes a ticket. Drag it onto the rail at the top of the screen. The rail follows you to every station, so the ticket is your recipe from here on.
Then you switch stations with the three buttons at the bottom of the screen. The important thing to know: the grill keeps cooking while you are somewhere else. That is the whole trick of the game, and also the easiest way to burn a patty.
The Grill Station
Drag raw patties onto the grill. Each side cooks separately, and a meter shows how far along it is. The ticket asks for rare, medium or well done. When the first side reaches the right level, click the patty to flip it, then wait for the second side. Pull it off when it matches.
- Start the slow ones first. A well-done patty takes the longest. If one order wants well done and the next wants rare, put the well-done one on first.
- Do not leave the first side too long. You cannot fix a side after flipping it. Overcooked is overcooked.
- Two patties, two spots. Double-patty orders are common later. Put both on together so they finish together.
The Build Station
The bottom bun goes on the plate automatically. Everything else comes from the bins: the patty from the grill, then cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and the sauces, in exactly the order the ticket lists from the bottom up. Finish with the top bun.
Build points depend on two things: the right order and a neat stack. A topping dropped off-center hangs over the edge and costs you. Hold each piece right over the middle of the burger before you let go. Sauces work the same way: aim for the center.
Keeping the waiting score up
Every customer also scores how long they waited, from when they arrive to when their burger is handed over. On a quiet day that is easy. On a busy one, it is where most points are lost. Two habits help:
- Take orders as soon as someone reaches the counter, even if you are busy. The ticket on the rail does not cost anything, and the customer stops waiting at the counter.
- Put the next order's patties on the grill before you build the current burger. Building takes a few seconds; the grill takes much longer.
What to buy first
Tips go into the shop between days. The upgrades that help the most, in order:
- Grill timers (rare, medium and well-done). They ring when a patty needs flipping or is done, so you can work the Build Station without guessing.
- Heat lamp. Finished patties cool down while they wait. The lamp keeps them warm, so you can cook ahead.
- Doorbell. You hear a new customer walk in wherever you are, instead of finding a line when you get back to the counter.
- Lobby items like the jukebox, the newspaper stand, the gumball machine and the arcade cabinet. They make the line more patient, which protects your waiting score.
Saving
Burgeria has three save slots, and they live in your browser. Use the same browser to come back to the same file. Clearing site data, or playing in a private window, starts you over at Day 1.
